Okinawan Karate

We teach Okinwawn Shorin-Ryu Karate, a complete martial arts system that incorporates hard, fast, straight-line punches and strikes, powerful kicks, and both hard and soft type effective movements.

It is from Okinawa that almost all styles of Japanese, Korean and American Karate has developed. Shorin-Ryu is most appropriate and effective for self-defense, sport, physical fitness, mental discipline, and self-confidence.

It is ideal for both men and women because its effectiveness is based on speed and ability, rather than on physical size.

Adult Karate

Any person, male or female, 13 years of age or older, in reasonably good health, can participate in our adult Karate classes. Training is centered around practicing techniques that work in realistic self-defense situations. Emphasis is placed on exercising courtesy, learning traditional values, and becoming a strong person, both physically and mentally. We teach every aspect of the Martial Arts including Culture, Tradition, Science, Experience and Actual Proof, which adheres to the true spirit of Karate by teaching Character, Health, Skill, Respect and Humility.

The kids gain respect for themselves. They learn how to interact with other, and they overcome their fears of participating. They gain self confidence. They learn how to defend themselves should the need arise. The training will not make a “bully” out of your child and the instructors discourage mis-using acquired skills and knowledge. The training develops coordination and promotes poise and graceful movement. It is equally beneficial for girls as well as boys.
